Kat's Drunk Love Punch

I came up with this drink by experimenting with one of my favorite ingredients right now.... chia seeds!  I love the gelling effect it imparts in whatever it is added to.... helping you feel full and satisfied!

And as I thought of the word "satisfied", I thought..... why not add it to a homemade love potion!!!! I can be brilliant like that sometimes ;)

And then I started to think of what to add to this brew.... and the symbolism encyclopedia in my brain took over.  All of the ingredients in this punch have been used magickally for sexual vitality, passion and confidence.

To make this yummy and enticing concoction, I start off using one of my favorite kitchen tools these days.... my homemade iced tea maker!  It just makes brewing tea so much easier, but if you don't have one you can still make tea the old fashioned way!

To make the tea, you can either buy dried hibiscus and grind it yourself in a mortar and pestle.... but I bought the hibiscus tea bags.  I used about 6 of the bags in my iced tea maker.... which made a good strong hibiscus tea base for the rest of the potion.

After making the tea, while it was still warm, I immediately added 6 tablespoons of chia seeds and 2 tablespoons of agave nectar.  Stirring well every few minutes, to ensure that the chia seeds did not all float to the top or stay on the bottom.

I then added 2 teaspoons of Madagascar Vanilla Bean Extract.  YUM.

I then added 8 ounces of 100% pure pomegranate juice.  My birthstone, garnet, is named after the Latin word for pomegranate.  It is the stone of passion, faith, strength and determination.  I kept it in a talisman bag close to my heart while making this brew.

I then added crushed mixed berries to the brew..... which included blackberries, raspberries and blueberries.

Then, last but not least.....yet completely optional..... I made this brew extra powerful by adding 2 tablespoons of Damiana Liquor.  This can be fun to make from the Damiana herb, but I purchased this at a liquor store in Wakefield MA called Caporelle's..... I swear they have everything (including several flavors of Moonshine)! :)  Damiana has been used to awaken sexual desire in both sexes.... but known more for enhancing female sexual desire.

Then, I filled the rest of the ice tea container with Spring Water that I purified under the Full Moon.  Instead of water, you can also add red wine instead.

I recommend putting this in the refrigerator and waiting to drink it for at least an hour.  To fully enjoy the chia seeds, an hour gives them plenty of time to gel.  Once you are ready to drink it, give the potion a good final stirring before serving in a wine glass to your chosen lover.

Unfortunately I don't have anyone to entice..... so I will just make a date with myself!  But I wish all the lucky lovebirds out there..... full moon blessings and full moon fun! :)
